Veterinary Care

Dreamland for Cats has an excellent working relationship with vets in different parts of the island.

The charity also has a vet who attends Dreamland on a regular basis.

On average, 4 or 5 cats need veterinary treatment each week, with the most common issues being respiratory and digestive problems.

After treatment, they usually go to Dreamland for recovery, but this can vary on a case-by-case basis.

When the cats are fully recovered and in good health, they are returned to their familiar location, or in some cases, will join their furry friends at Dreamland.

Cats can usually be treated from Monday to Saturday, although this can depend on the pathology and intervention needed.

When the cats are being treated by the vets, they also receive parasite control medication and a general healthcheck.

Vets have also been involved in planning the veterinary facilities at Dreamland, including the provision of quarantine and hospitalisation areas.

We would like to thank the vets of Lanzarote for their support, care and expertise.

You can donate here to ensure these vital veterinary services continue to be available for the cats and kittens.
