Adopt a cat, worldwide

Dreamland for Cats is rightly proud of its adoption programme to find Forever Homes for Lanzarote street cats both internationally and within the Canaries.

The number of increasing adoptions within the island has been a great development with more and more Spanish residents offering their support.

All our cats are treated against parasites, fleas and worms, and will be neutered.

If you want to adopt a kitten which is too young to be sterilised, you can arrange to come back for it at the correct age.

Adoption Packages

You can choose from 5 different Adoption ‘packages, ranging from €65 to €250 depending on what you need.

Everything from worm and flea treatment to microchipping, neutering, sterilisation, pet passports, rabies vaccination and large transport boxes.

When you adopt a cat, you will need to sign a contract, that includes your address and phone number.

If there is any problem with the cat, you always have the right to come back to us, and we, or one of our vets, will do what we can.

Quite often our cats are adopted by a forever home in another country. In which case, we give you all the information you need, handle all the paperwork, give the cat a rabies vaccination and other required medication so that it qualifies for a Pet Passport and allows it to be taken on flights within the EU. Our cats have been adopted by homes as far away as New York!

You can take your adopted cat on a flight back to your own country in the cabin. If you can’t take your cat back with you, for whatever reason, we will find someone who is flying to your local airport, who will offer to take your cat for you. We call these good souls ‘Godmothers’.
