Fostering

Fostering takes place when a volunteer offers to look after a cat or kitten which is recuperating from an illness or which needs special treatment.

For example, a kitten who has been with other cats who are ill, or a cat who has been bitten by a dog.

Or perhaps it’s a cat that hasn’t been getting along too well with the other cats at Dreamland. Although this, it must be said, is rare. Visitors often comment on how the cats at Dreamland are so calm and relaxed.

We’re always looking for people who will volunteer to take a needy cat into their home on a temporary basis. Of course, when the people fostering the cat say they wish to adopt it, we’ll be delighted and will make all the arrangements.

Sometimes, there are people who want to ‘try’ a cat and return it if they don’t like it. That is definitely not allowed. An animal is not a toy you can try out and, if you don’t like it, bring it back.

Fostering only takes place if there’s a purpose and a happy end in sight.
